Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
